DESCRIPTION:Join Guest Chef Nadia Ketoure of Market Life to explore Tunisian traditions\, food as medicine\, and her personal journey with Tunisian peppers and harissa! All recipes are vegan and gluten free. \nNadia will be making Tunisian couscous with seasonal vegetables and her own “Najet” harissa\, along with two favorite Tunisian salads: Omok horria (a steamed carrot salad with coriander and harissa) and a refreshing radish salad with a lemon olive oil parsley dressing. She will also show us how to make gluten-free couscous using fonio\, a naturally gluten-free whole grain native to West Africa that belongs to the millet family! \nNadia Ketoure is the chef and founder behind Market Life\, a vegan/zero waste food business. Market Life sells fresh\, vegan\, gluten-free\, pre-packaged meals in the refrigerator section at the Coop! Nadia is also an Integrative Health coach who studies herbalism\, raw food cooking\, and traditional Chinese medicine. Nadia teaches Qigong and infuses her food with Joy! She has lived in the US for more then 20 years and enjoys sharing her love for her home country\, Tunisia – preparing foods for her children’s schools and partnering with local farms to produce Tunisian peppers here in the Northeast. Nadia currently works with Willow Wisp Organic Farm and is growing some Tunisian peppers to start producing her family’s “Najet harissa” this fall. \nThis event is virtual only.

With her signature crocheted bikini and playful warmth\, host Robin Byrd welcomed adult film stars and exotic dancers of all genders and sexualities to hang with her each week as she hosted the ultimate low-budget\, sex-positive party on New York City television. More than just a cable access legend\, Byrd was also a pioneer in interactive call-in shows\, acting as her own producer and wearing every hat imaginable to create 600+ original broadcasts during her heyday. Arriving on the scene between the sexual revolution and the AIDS epidemic\, Byrd became a vocal activist who staunchly promoted safe sex while championing free speech and battling censorship in federal court. \nAs she approaches her 70th birthday while enjoying a quiet retirement with her partner of over 50 years\, Byrd reflects on her unique legacy\, searching for a permanent home to entrust her extensive\, one-of-a-kind collection of show tapes and memorabilia in this fun\, insightful and thoroughly entertaining portrait of a true original. \nJyllian Gunther and Stephanie Schwam are the filmmakers behind Bang My Box: The Robin Byrd Story\, which they co-directed for HBO. Called a “masterclass in biographical filmmaking” by Tribeca’s Jose Rodriguez\, it reached #3 on HBO’s most-watched list. As showrunner and director\, they made HBO Max’s Swiping America and worked on NBC’s Emmy-winning Who Do You Think You Are?\nGunther is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker. Selected other work includes the critically acclaimed features The New Public (PBS\, Kino Lorber) and Pull Out (Amazon)\, the short doc Sunset & The Mockingbird (now streaming on PBS)\, shorts for Amazon’s The New Yorker Presents\, and Black Patriots: Heroes of the American Revolution\, for which she received a Christopher Award. \nLucy Kreutz is an award-winning director and producer of documentary films and television series. Her career has taken her on adventures around the world and into hidden corners of the United States. Her work has won awards such as the Sundance Institute’s Sustainability Award and the Faces of Austin Award at SXSW. She has produced non-fiction television for NBC\, National Geographic\, A&E\, TLC\, Animal Planet\, MTV\, Discovery\, and Netflix. Most recently\, she directed on the latest season of NBC’s Emmy-winning docu-series\, Who Do You Think You Are. Lucy’s career started in post production – she has edited five feature documentaries and numerous shorts.
