The International Trade Education Squad (ITES) is tasked with tracking the many trade deals and policies that shape our politics and ultimately have a huge effect on our lives. The squad decodes the arcane legislative documents trade deals entail and attempt to translate them into a language that we can all understand in an effort to educate our fellow Coop members. Squad members have different tasks that reflect what their individual abilities afford them.
The ITES meets every six to eight weeks via Zoom where we discuss upcoming tasks to be performed such as articles for the Linewaiters’ Gazette, running social media, potential guest speakers for community forums and discussions for presentations to the GM.
As this is a very specialized area of federal legislation we do not require any previous experience in the subject, but are rather looking for committed individuals that are interested in sticking up for working people, protecting the environment and calling out systemic corporate abuse.
